Apply to Studio House Project

Referral (how to apply) to Studio House Project is by self-referral, and is made by simply phoning us, anytime Between 10 - 5, Monday to Friday.

We will arrange for an assessment. This is a face to face discussion with you so we can get a thorough evaluation of where you are with your addiction. We'll need to know that your reasons for wanting to come here are that you have tried every possible means to achieve abstinence and have not succeeded.

“Provided your intention to come here and accept treatment is honest and pure, you are likely to be placed on our waiting list. (Please be aware, however, that we are a small facility with a staff team whose area of expertise is in recovery from addiction, so if you also have additional personal or medical health care needs that are beyond what we are able to provide for, you may be signposted to other services that are better able to meet your needs. We will discuss this with you during your assessment if we think this is likely to be the case).”

At the assessment we will explain about the requirement for you to be clean (free from alcohol or illegal drugs) when becoming a resident at Studio House Project. For people whose substance misuse issue is alcohol, please be aware that we are not a detox facility, and people will need to detox prior to admission.

What you can do in the meantime

The waiting list for a bed at Studio House Project is typically quite long, and you can end up waiting for a number of weeks/months before a bed becomes free when demand is high. Please try to remember that there are many people who are in a similar position to yourself, and we have a responsibility to treat everyone fairly. While you are on the waiting list, you will be expected to check in with us by telephone at least 3 times per week. This demonstrates your willingness and commitment, and will help maintain your position on the waiting list. It will also help us give priority to those that really want to get well, and who are committed to putting in the effort that is required to complete the programme successfully.
